Jesus
said:
whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise
man who built his house on the rock

Shhh...
be very quiet... we're going somewhere special. Hey! I
said quiet!... We have to go in and not make a sound,
and hope no one notices... ~ Now, that you follow that
train of thought, check this verse out: ~ you'll have to look below! :)

"For we do have a High Priest who can sympathize with
our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. [And because of that] Let us
therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we
may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
~ Hebrews 4:15-16
May I add a few thoughts on this. Dwelling in His wonderful presence ought to so rapture
our attention - thoughts, energy, emotions - that we view anything that
interrupts that as a foe. I don't mean people, I mean life-distractions. As in
things where we exclude God from them - we really need to, as a body of Christ,
focus on and grow more in viewing those things that disrupt and block our
fellowship with God (bad attitudes included) as foes, as unwanted, as something
to run from. That is really what is meant by abhorring - hating what is evil,
isn't it? I mean, we can't abhor what God says is evil and entertain ourselves
with it - at the same time, can we? no, we can't. And
what's more is most Christians these days have forgotten the Biblical teaching
of how God silently (not noisily) but, most often silently walks away when His
children fight for our 'rights', or our 'way', or our 'stuff', or our 'time
alone with our entertainment - games, TV, movies, etc...' ~ And the silence
during and after that is because we have pushed Him away.
So, if this is you, that God happens
to have me talking to - how do you (and I) get back in
harmony with Him, to once-again enjoy the warm embrace of His wonderful holy
pure presence again? Simple - 1st John 1:9. ~ Confess, learn to hate that, walk
away - don't look back (and practice not going back), and then pick up and walk
forward with Him (and without that sin/entanglement). ~ Nice, huh? :)
And, then after that, we can once
again enjoy His wonderful presence, love, wisdom, and insight once again! And
as we grow in that, we can then grow in studying His Word, grow in
understanding His Word, rightly applying His Word, memorizing His Word,
reaching out to others with His Word, and boldly proclaiming His Word, and
having a strong confidence that comes with walking with Him as our pattern!.. but, then, I'm getting ahead of myself, for I plan to post
more on these topics in the future. :)
For now though, I challenge (and/or
plead with you) Meditate on that verse - Hebrews
4:15-16. What is hindering you today? Is it worth it? Are you
willing to remove it? ~ How much is Christ and an uninterrupted relationship
with Him worth to you? ~ your bro/friend, and a
growing servant/life-slave of Jesus, SH
