Dear fellow followers of Christ, April
12, 2015
We were given a booklet from the
October 28th International Abolish Human Abortion assembly.
After thoroughly looking up all of the
approximately 114+ Scripture references, analyzing the pictures and symbols,
and reading the booklet cautiously, we began to realize that the Abolish Human
Abortion leadership who wrote this booklet are 1) deceptively
hiding messages and pictures in this booklet that are advocating human
vengeance against those who provide abortion procedures and church-goers who
have an abortion; 2) they are pretending that believers are supposed to be
establishing our own government and execute force in secular nations in order
to establish God's kingdom, instead of preaching the gospel which is Jesus'
means of building His kingdom; 3) they are also falsely
accusing all believers who are pro-life but are not “abolitionists” of being
Pharisees who are not doers of the Word based on Abolish Human Abortion's (AHA)
standard of obedience which we will quote thoroughly from their own booklet.
The writing team here at Foundations
of Evangelism, Discipleship, and Biblical Preaching (FEDBP) are evangelists and
pro-life, and we see this ministry at abortion clinics as a great way to get
the gospel to people who are actively living in sin. We realize that to share
the gospel and make disciples of all nations is more necessary than AHA's
(Abolish Human Abortion) attempt to eliminate one type of highly-visible
murder. Only a change of heart given by God toward repentance will halt all of
these sinful hearts from their ways, which are deceitful and desperately wicked
(Jeremiah 17:9), in more ways than just murder in their heart and blood on
their hands. We encourage all pro-life Christians to preach against all sin,
and call for repentance and obedience toward Christ and through Christ.
These are some short notes for wide
distribution and discussion in the body of Christ. We believe that these three
threats and false teachings from AHA are dangerous to the work of the gospel
and the faith of the church in Christ's commands. We could not find a public
copy of this 30 page booklet; it seems that no one has posted it anywhere
visible and that they have barely begun to distribute it. The Abolish Human
Abortion (AHA) Facebook page states that they allow free distribution of all of
their materials, etc, and there is certainly no copy-right posted on this
booklet. So we are making it available to the church in order to highlight
these wrong teachings and their mean accusations against genuine believers in
Christ. (See end of this document for
links) ~ We share this information so that the body of Christ can have
honest and gracious conversations on this topic.
We would like to make specific note of
the top 8 most outrageous pictures and references in order to alert the whole
church. You can find a link to this 30-page “Church Repent” booklet here: http://www.incpu.org/aha-booklet.pdf
~ Page numbers are written in pen on the bottom corners for reference. Here the
top 8 serious concerns:
1 On pages 9
and 10 at the top it states “But if you
refuse and rebel, You shall be eaten by the sword.”
On page 17, “Wash me thoroughly from my
iniquity” at the top, and “Genesis
9:6” at the bottom in miniature font size, which reads: “Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood
shall be shed; for in the image of God He made man.” On page 4 it states, “The way we act or fail to act towards our
neighbors (meaning babies or image-bearers as they say it on page 24) reflects our heart towards God who created
him in His own image and likeness.”
2 On page 28,
the whole chapter of Ezekiel 9 is referenced in regard to judgment that will
begin within the church. Ezekiel 9 is about a messenger of God taking an
inkhorn and marking the foreheads of all Israelis in Jerusalem who were
frustrated and grieved about the abominations that were being tolerated in
Israel; then God sent His six messengers who had charge over Jerusalem to take
a deadly weapon to follow the messenger with the inkhorn to kill everyone else
who were in agreement with the abominations. These are not human men carrying
out this purpose, but rather angels as we see in other places in Old Testament
times who were sent to destroy those who worshipped false ‘gods’, who had
filled the land with demon-worship and violence, promoted rebellion and were
unjust and abusive in a variety of ways. This passage cannot and does not apply
to the church, its leaders, or to secular nations.
3 On page 26,
it states “AND LET JUSTICE ROLL DOWN LIKE
WATER” with blood pouring down the page and for some reason splashing on
what we perceive to be a dove (a very strange dove with a red and black skull
design built into it) based on the image of the dove on page 26. Oddly enough,
they actually reference Jonah 3:5-10 on the same page which is Jonah's
preaching the gospel to Nineveh, Assyria which led to genuine repentance even
of the government and of the people, which removed the need for judgment and
saved many souls!! What a glorious day that was! God is not willing that any
should perish but desires that all should come to repentance as it says in 2
Peter 3:9!
4 On page 22,
they say to consider Leviticus 20:4-5, which describes how God will reject and
disown any Israelis who see a man sacrifice his child
to the false god Molech but do not enforce God's law to judge and execute that
man, and instead hide and pretend that they didn't see him sacrifice his child.
And AHA accuses the body of Christ of having “shut her eyes” to abortion and pretending that it is not our
responsibility to stop it. On page 9, they also state that modern humans are
not aborting their child to sacrifice to Molech, but to the modern ‘gods’ of
personal peace and affluence. Leviticus 20 is the covenant of law between God
and the nation of Israel, not to the body of Christ. And, covetousness is
idolatry in God’s eyes (Colossian 3:5), and abortion is murder in God’s eyes (Exodus
20:13), but modern-day abortion, for most women, is not ritual sacrifice.
5 On page 27,
they say “Christ will lead us into battle
to abolish human abortion” and “The
people who know their God will rise and do exploits”. This wording in
combination with their picture is disturbing. They depict Moses with Toby
Harmon's face whose staff is turning into a serpent and swallowing Jannes' and
Jambres' serpents. On his shirt, it says “NO
COMPROMISE AHA”. The modern meaning of “no
compromise” is to consider no limitation or expense in order to achieve
your purpose. So they are supposedly making a parallel with Moses abolishing
slavery of Israelis under the Pharaoh, during which time Moses killed an
Egyptian as momentary decision to help his fellow Israeli who was being wrongfully
beaten. And Moses was also involved in the plagues which destroyed much of
ancient Egypt including their false ‘gods’ and killed their warriors in the Red
Sea. They also say on the next page (page 28) that they want to “work out the most effective means to bring
an immediate end to abortion in our nation.” Yikes! This is not a good
parallel at all. Jesus said, “… all who take the sword will perish by the sword”
in talking
about self-defense – Matthew 26:52. When James and John asked about calling
down fire upon Samaria for not welcoming Christ while He passed through on the
way to Jerusalem, Jesus' response was, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the
Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them.”
Luke 9:55-56
6 On page 24,
they explain that they believe that the organized “churches” represent
100,000,000 believers who they say have not stopped the killing of 57,000,000
babies/image-bearers (since Roe v. Wade in 1973). They state that “this is not the Kingdom of God!”, as
though we aren't properly representing God's kingdom because this still
continues. 1 John 3:15 explains, “… you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in
him.” Jesus said that Satan comes to “steal, kill, and destroy” John
10:10. So the Word of God points out that God's Kingdom is not in their hearts
if they are a murderer, and that the Kingdom of God is actually in the hearts
of those who through faith in Christ are not sexually immoral nor murderers. Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God does not come with
observation; nor will they say, ‘See here’ or ‘See there’! For the Kingdom of
God is within you.” These leaders of AHA, however, have this to say
about God's Kingdom contrary to Scripture: “Should
our culture so rampantly practice every abomination decried by the prophets of
God now that we have become the body and bride of Christ? By
no means.... Some may say that Old Testament Israel was expected to do
justice and show mercy but that we in the Church age are to focus on other
things.... This is Satanic thinking!.... The people of
God have not lost any power or responsibility. In fact, we have gained power
and been given an even greater responsibility.... We have been equipped with
every spiritual gift for the building up of the Kingdom of God on earth as it
is in Heaven!.... Whatever it is that we have been
building has not been bright enough to push back the darkness engulfing our
culture as evidenced by the present abortion holocaust.” They then broadly
reference Matthew 5:13 – 6:34 and Luke 12:35-48.
7 On pages
19, 20 they quote Luke 10:30-37 and explain on page 25 that “We have taken the other side of the road
like the Priest and the Levite who did not love their neighbor.” On page 8,
they talk about “… Christian security
guards protecting the establishment [abortion ‘clinic’], Christian delivery men
bringing them their poisons and instruments of death, Christian business owners
providing them food and other services, and even Christian health and safety
workers who are there to ensure the “clinic” passes upcoming state health code
requirements to remain open for 'business'. Anyone who thinks that abortion is
only supported by leftist liberals, secularists, pagans, and atheists
is someone who remains ignorant by choice.” We would also note that
large “churches” accept these “doctors” as members of the “church”. But their
use of “Christian” here is partly dishonest and mostly irrelevant; they are mis-placing a lot of blame on unrelated people, Christian
or not, for crimes committed by knowing murderers, acting as abortion doctors, who
are not Christians. In pages 27 – 30, they have the most Scripture references,
and their purpose with these verses is to convince Christians that they are to
be responsible for shutting down abortion clinics and if you are not involved
in this and do not agree with the leaders of this organization, then you are a
Pharisee. They misapply and falsely accuse using Hebrews 10, Mark 3:31-33,
Matthew 23, 1 Timothy 6:4-5, Romans 16:17-18, 2 Timothy 3:5, Matthew 10:17-25,
Matthew 24:9-12, etc. They also state on page 28, that they have done such a
good job of making this case that you can never again say that you did not know,
and then they reference Proverbs 24:12. They also say on page 26, that “Abolitionism Is Repentance”, but then
they contradict themselves on page 30 by saying that this discussion “is not Soteriological”. We would have to
say that the Pharisees were not saved and many did not repent even later on
after seeing so many Jewish people repent of their stealing, immorality, etc.
So this AHA team is definitely calling into question the salvation of many people
by their false accusations (especially by their posting of Hebrews 10, Matthew
23). They also state on page 29, “We are
not saying that you must drop everything else that you are doing, nor arguing
that abortion is the only evil the church ought to be fighting. What we are
saying is that neglecting justice and mercy for the aborted unborn calls
everything else that you are doing into question.” This is on a page
depicting Gideon's choosing his soldiers based on their lapping up water from
the river or cupping water in their hands in order to get a drink. This was to go
to physical war against the Midianites. On the other hand, they also depict a
man lounging on his couch with a song book of “Amazing Grace” whose song-writer
was a former slave-trader (a reference to abolishing slavery), a beer, a TV
remote, a sleeping dog, and a book by Bonhoeffer who was involved in a group
who planned to assassinate Hitler (a reference to abortion being like the
Holocaust). We do not agree with these parallels being made in reference to
stopping the abortion of babies by the choice of their own mothers and their
own families.
8 On page 12,
along with Proverbs 24:11-12, they quote James 1:27, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to
visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained
from the world.” Then they say, “A
woman who is brought to the clinic has been disregarded by those who should
have helped her.” Then on page 13, they continue with, “However, it is difficult to call all women
who turn to abortion as an answer for their unplanned pregnancies, 'widows.'”
Then, they add later that, “Indeed... it
is hard to call such women widows. And yet, in a way, we do believe that they
have been victimized to a degree and abandoned by reckless and irresponsible
men and in that sense, and to this degree, they are our culture's widow class.”
Then in regard to the baby, they say, “Regardless
of the situation or circumstance of those entering the abortion mill, the child
they are taking away to death is in every sense of the word an orphan. They are
the 'Fatherless' of our culture.” We fail to understand how they feel that
they can rewrite definitions so broadly.
There are a few dozen more errors that
we hope to address more fully in our other reports. If you want to know more
about the leadership of this “movement”, just ask. Comment or send us a message
on our Foundations of Evangelism, Discipleship, and Biblical Preaching (FEDBP) Facebook
page. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=201110539903466
~ We'll
be glad to help more as time and God's grace allow. And we are requesting that
you share this short evidence with as many followers of Christ as possible,
including those involved with AHA and abolitionists themselves to be aware of
these very troubling concerns about the founding AHA team and leaders in
Norman, OK. We simply want honest Biblical discussion of this topic, genuine
preaching against all sin especially within the church and among the preachers
themselves, and to encourage those who are opposing abortion and using this
ministry as a way to rescue the perishing ones whose souls are against God. We
are asking for those who know the men who wrote this material to find out which
men made these particularly dangerous statements and call them to
accountability to Scripture. We need to identify the wolves who
are tearing up the flock. We also want the church to be alert to the future
revision of this booklet that we were told by the leaders of AHA is in progress,
their ‘debate’ in Tulsa, OK on April 25, 2015, and their 2015 upcoming conference
in Portland, Oregon that was scheduled for November 8-10, 2015. The debate in
Tulsa, OK is prolife incrementalism vs abolitionist immediatism with AHA leader
and founding member Thomas Russell Hunter and Gregg Cunningham of the Center
for BioEthical Reform, who is said to have mentored AHA leader and founding
member Don Cooper for 5 years. If the church, the body of Christ who is
pro-life in every way for the sake of the souls of people, allows this AHA team’s
movement to grow without public discussion among the believers on these
concerns, the silence leaves the question in the eyes of the world about
Christians being accused of supporting or agreeing with so-called
“psychopathic” killers who disregard government authority and take supposed “justice”
into their own hands. That is the seriousness of this booklet and the primary
reason we are responding to it. In addition, it is causing division among the
brethren to occupy them with attempting to change people's lives by use of the law
and outward change, instead of preaching the gospel which can save their souls
and change their hearts (Isaiah 1:18; 2nd Corinthians 5:17), which
leads to eternal and abundant life in every way.
