How to help your kids handle and get free from caused by disney entertainment

I got an email from a friend who wrote me asking how to get past some fears that she picked up from disney movies as a child. So, after finding out that the fears were because of witches, witchcraft and spells in the movies. So, after some prayer and talking the question over with a prayer partner, God gave me this response. It has 3 parts. I hope it encourages you or others who are having to work through the same thing.

Hello sister in Christ,

Good evening, I just got home, and after a bit of prayer and bouncing some ideas off of one of my prayer partners, I think I understand what you're asking and how to help you find comfort from God's Word. So I want to next share some things and verses with you, because your question is rather common - I just didn't recognize it at first

Okay... first, let's remember who runs this world. Scriptures talk about satan being the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2), but God still holds everything together (Colossians 1:15-17)

In the 7-year Tribulation described in Revelation 6-19, satan will wish to murder everyone except those who worship him, yet even then, the most he'll be able to kill is one quarter (25%) and the rest very slowly ~ meaning, even when satan is allowed to do much of the sin that he sold his soul for, even then, God will limit what he can do and can't do, and then will ultimately judge him by sending him to the bottom of the Lake of Fire forever.

What does that mean for today? Simple - he can't touch you or me unless he gets permission from God. In John 10 we see Jesus explain that some, and in 1stCorinthians 10:13, we see that God will not let satan or his co-conspirators - fallen angels, demons - push us more than we can stand in - they can't force us to sin, we just need to find our escape from that sin (and the temptation).

Even better promises - Psalm 34:7 reminds us this: "The Angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them." (Psalm 34:7) ~ The phrase 'Angel of the Lord' should actually be literally translated as - God Himself So, God Himself actually protects those who seek and serve Jesus with all of their heart. With that said, please remember that perfection and intentional growth in obedience to Christ and walking in His ways are two different things. Many who do follow Christ can (and do) lose their feeling of safety because of sin they allow themselves to do, and/or sinful entertainment from the TV, movies, books, video games, etc that they allow in their home - which lets satan push sins and put false fears in their hearts. Many people don't realize how many open doors satan has into their home - fantasy and entertainment are one of the biggest I've found in my 12+ years of working with youth.

So... back to your question - can witches hurt you? No. They can only do what God allows them to, and if you are doing what is pleasing to Him, He will protect you from harm and only allow what is good for your spiritual growth So... that looks to me to a good clear answer to question 1 you asked.

Now for question two - I'm possibly reaching just a little, but I've seen many repeats of this pattern with many youths and their homes. Typically when fears like that grip a child at a young age, oftentimes, there is another reason for fear in the home - whether it be active witchcraft, active freemasonry, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, or worse - MK Ultra abuse. Typically one of those is in the home which makes the home not stable for the child to sort through true fears and false fears

just like true guilts and false guilts.

So... if that applies at all, then I would like to point you to 1st John 1:9 ~ one of my absolutely favorite passages - I call it a life-verse. "If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1st John 1:9) ~ You see? It’s a beautiful verse and promise… yet, sometimes people miss it's depth, so let's unpack it a little. If we confess the sins that we can see, and are actively learning to leave them behind and not do them anymore, God will not only forgive us for those sins, but will also cleanse us from all the other sins that we don't know about - which both restores our confidence in Him *and* our fellowship with Him. It's a marvelous promise!

If... abuse is in your past somehow, that is not your fault. But, for you to have the confidence, I suggest to people to sort through and see how they can change and learn from the past, seek to grow in the present (active repentance and intentional spiritual growth), and with that, they will find that clarity of mind - past the wounds given by the person in the past. Over the years, those who have been abused, will need to keep sorting through the past to learn from it so they can understand and teach others, but doing what I just mentioned above will help them find their stability in Christ with no regrets, So, now that's question 2.

And… it seems to me that there is a third question that is implied - again a common one, and I'm going to toss this info out there, in case it helps too. If fantasy is in the home or a close family member is playing with witchcraft or opening a door of satan into the home, or an extended relative or friend is trying to cast spells on the home or family, etc - then there are few verses to claim.

Matthew 7:1-5 "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you." (Matthew 7:1-2) - --- The whole passage gives the context, but these two verses show what we can claim in prayer.

1> Ask God to help us to find and correct what we're doing that is making us vulnerable to attack, and

2> Ask God to judge them by the same measure they are judging us

"Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him." (Proverbs 26:27)

--- God is the One who does this - all we need to do is ask, with faith, that God would break this curse(s) off of us and our home, and return it back on the person who sent it. --- the topic of breaking the curse comes from a few passages, including this one: "Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight." (Proverbs 26:2) --- that principle has to be claimed in prayer, it's essentially seeking and relying on God for protection in more detail (Matthew 6:33)

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and Jesus is being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled." (2nd Corinthians 10:3-6) --- That passage, as well as much of Ephesians 6, is powerful and packed with prayer points. With a clear conscience, we can claim that God would tear down false accusations, and other evil things satan stirs up against those who seek and serve Jesus Christ that's probably a lot to think about, but I hope it helps.

I would like to hear feedback from you when you get a chance to read it - and I'll be glad to fill in any more answers either you or your family may need - with Scriptures
